When war broke out in 1914, none of the combatants foresaw the years od slaughter that lay ahead. This book chronicles the remoresless build-up of hostilities on the various fronts, and how the conflict spread to Asia and Africa. It ended only when the main european driver of war, the Kaiser’s Germany was broken and defeated.
